Visiting the museum, you will see what machinery people used to build roads less than a hundred years ago, and you will understand what a long and difficult process it was. The museum was founded on a special occasion – the 25th anniversary of the Vilnius–Kaunas motorway. The Road Museum's exhibits are spread over several rooms. On the second floor are exhibits of historical and museum value connected with road building: photographs, books and old maps of Lithuania. Here you will also find models of bridges, viaducts, junctions, bus stations and other structures, as well as some of the smaller, oldest tools for building and maintaining roads.
