The Grabijolai nature trail is a "wild" footpath that takes you from the ethnographic linear village of Grabijolai to the thickest oak in the whole of Neris Regional Park – the ancient Alkai Oak. On the way you will pass the Sweet Stream, woven with amusing stories, the mystical Uolkos (Alkai hills), the foundations of the former Zapalina farmstead on a high riverbank, and the Paalkiai hillfort, and you will approach the Neris with its mythological stones. Along this path you will get to know the interesting surroundings of Grabijolai village. They are full not only of beautiful "wild" landscapes but also of objects once made by human hands and now reclaimed by nature. The whole path, about 4 km long, is marked with direction arrows, but you will find no wooden steps, gravel paths or other "comforts" on it. That is why we call it an "extreme, wild trail". The trodden path runs through meadows, along field edges and former village tracks, up steep slopes and through deep ravines. So on this nature trail you must wear comfortable, waterproof footwear with non-slip soles and be ready for a challenging, "wild" walk. The path will take you to the Alkai Oak and then turn back, so you will return along almost the same route you came. This nature trail passes through private land, so out of respect for the owners and for nature, please do not light fires along the way and take all your rubbish home with you.
