Ferdinand Square in Klaipėda reopened after reconstruction on 2 June 2021. Its paving recreates the early-20th-century street grid of the Vitė suburb, with street-name plates and the outlines of buildings. A Second World War shelter survives beneath the square – it cannot be entered, but the play and educational features installed above it let visitors make the shelter "talk".
