Klaipėda City Hall

Not rated yetKlaipėda

This is the historic building where, during the Napoleonic Wars, King Frederick William III of Prussia and Queen Louise lived temporarily (1807–1808). It is a Classicist house built in the late 18th – early 19th century, which belonged to the Danish consul Lorck and later to his relative Consentius. In 1846 the city magistrate bought the building, and it became Klaipėda's city hall. Since 2011 the mayor of Klaipėda and some of the city municipality's administrative staff have returned to this historic building.
