Vilnius Airport Plane-Spotting Platform

A plane-spotting platform unlike any other in the country operates on the airport grounds. Anyone in Vilnius or visiting the capital who wants to watch aircraft can do so safely and free of charge: the platform is open to all, 24 hours a day, and safety is ensured by Vilnius Airport staff and police officers. The raised viewing platform is conveniently located next to the Salininkai allotments, just beyond the Vilnius Airport fence, where everyone can get to it. The site was chosen with both technical feasibility and the best possible view for visitors in mind – planes take off and land constantly right nearby, and the runway is clearly visible. Right next to the plane-spotting platform, Vilnius City Municipality has also built a children's playground. In a fenced area, visitors will find a play space with a slide, double vertical swings, a climbing frame and other safely installed attractions.
