Ruins of the Rudamina Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration
The first Orthodox church here was set up in 1866 in the former Catholic Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary and named the Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord. In 1874–1876 it was dismantled and the present stone church was built in its place, while the wood of the old church was used to build the wooden cemetery chapel of St Nicholas the Wonderworker. During the First World War the church was looted. Between the two world wars it was attached to the Vilnius Orthodox Church of the Most Holy Mother of God. In 1944 the church was damaged in the fighting and was never rebuilt. The ruins of the building survive to this day.
