Monument to Mahatma Gandhi and Hermann Kallenbach

In October 2015 a monument was unveiled in Rusnė to Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the Indian nation, and his companion Hermann Kallenbach, a son of Rusnė. This event of international significance brought a crowd of guests to the island: Indians, Jews, Russians, Lithuanians and other curious visitors. The much-visited spot on the Atmata embankment became even more popular once the monument was unveiled.
