Lithuanian Sea Museum and Dolphinarium
A national museum that invites visitors to discover the mysterious underwater world. The museum is located at the northernmost point of the Curonian Spit – Kopgalis – where the gateway to the port of Klaipėda opens up. Twenty-four aquariums present four ecosystems: freshwater, the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and tropical seas. The aquarium also has an acrylic tunnel that lets you watch sea creatures up close. The museum covers about 13 hectares and also includes a dolphinarium, home to penguins, Baltic seals and Steller sea lions. The dolphinarium regularly holds dolphin shows and educational California sea lion shows, and since 2015 it has had a dolphin therapy centre working with children with various health conditions.
