Jonas Basanavičius Street

This is the town's main street. It used to be called Tyszkiewicz Street or Tyszkiewicz Boulevard. In summer 1924 Dr Jonas Basanavičius visited Palanga. To honour the patriarch of the nation, the people of Palanga named Tyszkiewicz Boulevard after J. Basanavičius. Every holidaymaker walks along this street more than once, as it has plenty of cafés and all kinds of entertainment, and it is the main street leading to the pier.
