The History Museum of Lithuania Minor is housed in a baroque house in Klaipėda Old Town, built in 1774 that belonged to postmaster J. K. Vitė. The exhibition tells the history of the Klaipėda region and Lithuania Minor – from prehistory, the Curonians and Scalvians and the rule of the Teutonic Order up to the 20th century. Here you will learn about the first Lithuanian books, which were published in Lithuania Minor, and see examples of the culture, everyday life and folk costume of the local Lietuvininkai. Free audio guides in Lithuanian and English are available, and the museum is pet-friendly.
