The Bukta nature trail quickly became popular and draws visitors in every season. It has become a great place to spend time with the family, and visitors often have a picnic with snacks and a campfire here. To meet tourists' needs, a rest area has been set up surrounded by forest. It is just 700 metres from the nature trail, and road signs point the way to it. It is a great opportunity to spend time in nature with the family and children, teaching the little ones the names of trees and how to recognise various plants, mushrooms and berries. The rest area has everything you need for a good picnic: a gazebo, swings, rubbish bins and a toilet. You can spend your time a little differently here – a special campfire site lets you hang a pot and cook soup on the spot and eat surrounded by trees. You can also admire the pond, which is unique in that one half has been renewed and enlarged, while the other half has been left as a natural bog to protect nature and the ecosystem. The Bukta forest is unique, especially for botanists and naturalists. In this, one of the most valuable forested areas in Lithuania, more than 500 species of herbaceous plants alone have been counted. The Bukta nature trail offers a 1.3 km or 1.7 km walk with 7 stops where you can learn about hornbeam stands, alluvial forests, swampy deciduous forests and the plant and animal species that grow and live along the trail.
