A. Baranauskas's granary was built in 1826 but moved to its present site only in 1839. It is a unique building whose origins are linked to the writer's father, Jonas Baronas. The granary was built using only an axe, without any other tools. Some of the writer's belongings survive in it to this day – the Baranauskas family bed, a dowry chest, a violin, even a suitcase and the small shelf on which the poet's manuscripts were kept.
