Vinetu Village is an open-air museum of living Native American history that keeps the traditions of the North American Indians alive in the picturesque valley of the Dangė-Akmena River, in Kretingalė eldership. Here Indian drums beat, mystical totem poles rise towards the sky, and stone labyrinths lead towards answers to life's most important questions… Vinetu Village is a village for active and harmonious leisure. Its guests stay in authentic Indian tipis or wooden cabins, eat healthy, blessed food, wash in an outdoor sauna, find freedom riding horses and paddling kayaks, spark their creativity by making music and handicrafts, and awaken their fighting spirit in archery battles and ancient-weapon tournaments, throwing axes – tomahawks – and spears or shooting arrows at targets. Educational and experiential tours for groups of children and adults, as well as rituals, nature festivals, camps and festivals held in Vinetu Village, help visitors to get to know the rich, legend-filled culture, history, customs and wisdom of the American Indians, to rekindle love and respect for Mother Earth, Father Sky and everything around us, and to feel the stirrings of their own soul. Vinetu Village has an Indian museum presenting a collection gathered over a decade: handicrafts, art and jewellery, archaic weapons, trophies, totem poles, musical instruments, clothing and adornments, old photographs, paintings and other artefacts. The Indian sweat lodge (inipi), its benefits and the sweat purification ceremony are also presented. The programme is complemented by practical activities. Archery and Indian blowpipe tournaments are held, and you can test the strength of your arm by throwing a spear and a tomahawk. The Indian energy labyrinth is a path to yourself, offering a unique chance to release your wishes and dreams so that they may come true; by nature we are connected with the elements. When we focus our intention on them and their symbols, we can use their energy to make energy cleansing and meditation more effective. Your intention is very important, so formulate it clearly. Many animals live in Vinetu Village: poultry, sheep, goats, horses and others. Visitors can go up to them and feed them. Those who wish can go horse riding.
