On the Šilėnai nature trail you'll get to know the unique village of Šilėnai and its wooded surroundings. The trail is about 6 km long. In its first part, up to Naujoji Rėva hillfort, you'll find quite a few sights and information boards, while the second part, from the hillfort back to Šilėnai village, follows a simple forest track. The whole route takes about 3 hours. Although it is designed for walkers, you can also cycle it. The only tricky section is near Naujoji Rėva village, where a steep climb and a narrow forest path mean you'll have to push or carry your bike. This area will surprise you with its great variety of landscapes – from the old ethnocultural village of Šilėnai and wooded hills to breathtaking panoramas of the Neris valley and the park's largest bog. Along the way you'll find miraculous springs, the mythological "Three Brothers" stones in the Neris, Naujoji Rėva hillfort with an ancient settlement at its foot, a bog with Lithuanian orchids, old coniferous forests on the slopes of the Neris… and much more. We invite you to look for small discoveries and wonders all along the route! Be curious and attentive. We promise you one thing – travelling here, you'll be able to enjoy the harmony of natural and cultural heritage. Have a wonderful time!
