Sculpture „Childhood Dream“

Not rated yetKlaipėda

„Childhood Dream“ (Vaikystės svajonė) is a bronze boy in a sailor's cap waving at ships entering and leaving the port, while a dog beside him pulls him back. The 1.6 m sculpture stands on a 1.4 m stone by the cruise ship terminal. It was created in 2007 by sculptor Svajūnas Jurkus with architect Vytautas Paulionis; the idea and funding came from A. Kliukas, head of the company „Pamario restauratorius“. The sculpture has become a symbol of the seafaring port city and of childhood dreams of faraway lands, and a popular photo spot.
