Raigardas Valley
Not rated yetDruskininkai
Legend has it that the valley was once the site of the rich town of Raigardas, whose people feasted all the time and celebrated too much, angering Perkūnas, the god of thunder. Because of their behaviour the town collapsed and sank deep into the earth, and ever since then the bell of the damned has been ringing underground – they are looking for a way out of the underworld. That way out is blocked by the Devil's Stone at the edge of the valley, near Švendubrė. The salty mineral waters are the tears of the condemned.
