The park on an island in the Nemunas River is an attractive recreational area where you can not only take a walk but also exercise and take part in sports and entertainment events, which are held at the unique Žalgiris Arena, the largest in the Baltic states. In September 2022 a water sports centre with an Olympic pool opened next to the Žalgiris Arena, and in 2022 a footbridge to the island from Karaliaus Mindaugo Avenue was completed.
