Since 2012 the "House of Dolls" in Žagarė has been a doll museum and educational space founded by folk artist and doll maker Aušra Petrauskienė. At the "House of Dolls" you will see a collection of historical dolls and hear a vivid account of how they were made, get to know a collection of national dolls from around the world, exhibitions of Lithuanian national and Semigallian dolls and theatre puppets, and have the chance to watch a short film and use the local post – choose a postcard published by the "House of Dolls" and send it to your friends. In the workshops held here you will make your own doll or a souvenir mythical creature, and hear fascinating stories about the Raktuvė hill fort, Žvelgaitis hill, the ancient gods, witches, their talismans and signs.
