Hare Park

Not rated yetRokiškis

Legend has it that Rokiškis was founded by a hunter called Rokas. The town's name is derived from his name, and it is also closely linked to hares ("kiškis" in Lithuanian). It is said that there were very many of them in our region back then, and Rokas hunted them, which encouraged him to stay here. So it is not for nothing that the people of Rokiškis love hares. A "hare park" has been created next to the Rokiškis Regional Museum. Decorative hare sculptures that double as benches and armchairs invite you to sit down and rest, and to check whether you are taller than the carrot the hare holds in its paws.
