This is a unique outcrop that reveals three geological layers. In its lower part, Upper Devonian sandstone and Neogene quartz sand layers are exposed – the most important mineral resource of Anykščiai district. The steep right bank of the Šventoji River, about 300 metres long and 27 metres high, offers an impressive landscape. Steps, paths and a viewing platform have been built here, along with a jetty, and two springs gushing from the ground have been tidied up. On the riverbank you can easily see the rock layers lying one above another: Devonian, Neogene and Quaternary (pre-Pleistocene and Pleistocene), formed roughly 1.8–0.8 million years ago. The Daumantai Outcrop was declared a state-protected natural heritage site in 2013.
