The Church of St Casimir is one of the most impressive Baroque monuments in Vilnius, as the church is crowned with a royal crown. Legend has it that the cornerstone, which is still in the façade wall, was rolled from Antakalnis to the city centre by 700 people. In 1991 a 17th-century crypt with unique drawings on its walls was found under the high altar. The Jesuits who lived and worked here and the church's benefactors may have been buried in it. The church has a 45-stop organ, and every Sunday after High Mass there are concerts of religious music.
