The Baisogala manor ensemble was built between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and the palace in 1830–1847. Under the Komar family the palace was rebuilt and enlarged several times, and restored after the wars. While the Komars lived here the palace had all the comforts of the time: bathrooms, running water and central heating. In 1952 the Lithuanian Institute of Animal Husbandry was founded at the manor; today the Animal Husbandry Institute of the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) operates here. The palace is surrounded by a 12-hectare park laid out back in the 19th century. It has many exotic tree species, ponds and surviving avenues of old lime and chestnut trees.
