Acorn and Chestnut Nature Trail

This 1 km trail is meant for young tourists. The "Acorn and Chestnut Trail" in Plateliai manor park has 19 stops. At them you will learn about the history of the manor park, a natural meadow, the pond, the importance of a fallen tree, stones, lichens and the trees that grow here, including natural monuments: the thickest ash tree in Lithuania, known as the Witch's Ash, and the Plateliai Lime Tree. On your way you will be accompanied by mischievous Chestnut, who keeps itching to break off a twig, pick a flower or even kick an anthill! Only good Acorn steps in just in time to stop his friend and teach him how to behave in nature. You can walk this route on your own or with a guide from the Žemaitija National Park directorate (ask at the Plateliai Visitor Centre).
