Founded in 1921, the Vytautas the Great War Museum explores Lithuania’s military past and its struggle for freedom. Weapons, uniforms, documents and personal objects bring the lives of soldiers into focus. The exhibitions introduce different periods of Lithuanian history and the people who defended the country. The museum’s modernist building and surrounding memorial garden add another layer to the story of the interwar state and its remembrance.
