The name Pasakiškiai is often linked to the local forest and is said to come from a branchy (šakotas) forest. Older residents of the village call this place Vienuolynas (the Monastery), because an Orthodox monastery was built here in the 19th century. As for the trail itself, also known as the Sakiškės rest area: along a tidy wooden path you'll find five forest animals that at first glance look well fed. There are also comfortable shelters, an outdoor toilet and a car park at the start of the trail.
