Memorial Bench to Vytautas Kernagis

Walking along Gediminas Avenue past Lukiškės Square, look out for the bench-sculpture standing there. The bronze sculpture depicts a bench that stood here in 1965–1980, with a guitar leaning against its right side, and marks the start of Vytautas Kernagis's creative path. Vytautas Kernagis was a pioneer of Lithuanian sung poetry, a songwriter and performer, a director of entertainment events and a TV presenter. The memorial sculpture was created by sculptor Danielius Sodeika and architect Rimvydas Kazickas. It was made on the initiative and with the funds of Kernagis's friends, kindred spirits and companions.
