The coastal defence battery is a set of Second World War defensive fortifications on the Baltic coast, built after the Klaipėda Region was annexed by Germany. Two coastal artillery batteries were planned. One was to be built in Smiltynė near Kopgalis – 'Memel Süd' ('Klaipėda South') – and the other, 'Memel Nord' ('Klaipėda North'), beyond Giruliai, in the village of Kukuliškiai. However, only one battery was completed – the one in Kukuliškiai. 'Memel Nord' is not just a bunker but also a piece of our region's history, which you will discover in a new and many-sided way. You can travel back to the 20th century, feel the breath of history, and test yourself or your friends in peaceful reality. You will spend time in a past stretch of history that you will be able to see quite differently than before.
