Gediminas Castle with the tricolour flying above it adorns not only the heart of our country – a miniature wooden castle sprang up in Pandėlys, on a hillock in the park, to mark 16 February 2018. It is an example of what a community united by patriotic feeling can achieve. The castle was made by Valdas Pipikas, one of the initiators of the revival of the town park. The castle is 1.55 m high, although according to the plan it should have been 8 cm taller – but, as its maker says, "we ran out of an hour".
