The Gargždai Regional Museum was founded in 2005. Using modern and visually appealing means, the Gargždai Regional Museum introduces visitors to the history of the Klaipėda district and the town of Gargždai. The museum also promotes art and presents the work of artists in various fields. The museum houses the exhibition "Interwar Gargždai 1918–1939". Everyone who visits it can learn about the longest-standing border in Europe, about the meeting point of two ethnographic regions, their differences and similarities, and about interwar history from the town of Gargždai to the most important events in Lithuania and Europe in 1918–1939. The exhibition is designed both for interactive discovery and for more in-depth exploration. Educational sessions are offered to organised groups of visitors.
