The Fairy Tale Park is one of those places left as green zones between residential districts when they were designed. That is how this city park took shape in western Vilnius, between the Karoliniškės and Lazdynai neighbourhoods. Wooden sculptures depicting various fairy-tale and mythological characters were placed along its paths. The Fairy Tale Park opened in 1987, designed by the landscape architect Romualdas Jurgilis. Since 2019 the park has had an art-and-education installation: projectors installed in the treetops cast colourful illustrations of well-known city legends and stories onto the ground, and information boards nearby let you learn more about the city's most famous legends.
