The Akmena Nature Trail was laid out in 2004 on the left bank of the Akmena River to introduce visitors to the landscape of the Akmena valley. Sources give different lengths for the trail: the Directorate of Lithuania Minor Protected Areas (page updated on 12 October 2023) gives 1.4 km, while saugoma.lt gives 0.9 km. It starts and ends at the "Lakštingalų slėnis" (Nightingale Valley) campsite. Along the trail you climb a high, steep bluff with an outcrop that offers a view over Nightingale Valley. On top of the outcrop there is a rest area where you can catch your breath after climbing the steps. Two suspension bridges and the stony, winding Akmena River with its outcrops and beautiful valleys are not only what is depicted in the regional park's logo, but also what this protected area is truly proud of.
